Photography is an art but your equipment matters.
I started this photography business thinking that I had to buy the best equipment that men could design, but as professional photographer know that is far from the truth, and there are many of aspect of this career that are as important and even more important, I will elaborate in a bit.
Ok yes equipment is highly important and I am aware of that, I use some of the best equipment designed out there to capture my clients memories. I moved off from the 20th century photo equipment and moved into 21st century equipment, Mirrorless cameras, RF lenses and these make for some buttery crisp images. We also use professional grade flashes and strobe lights with reflective umbrellas. Enough of the equipment now onto how we make this all come together....
But equipment is not everything and if you are starting photographer the earlier you understand this the faster you will progress. What I mean is get the appropriate training, there are many resources out there that will help you, but please please be careful there are many sites and people that will take your money and not give you any value added information.
I use Gilbert Photography from Las Cruces New Mexico (https://gilbertduncanphotography.com), Gilbert is very versatile and is highly experienced in photo editing. Right so about photo editing, to me editing is one of the most important aspects of your business, this is where you give it the twist that defines your style and is where you wow your customers. If you don't know what to look for when you are editing your pictures your work will be jncocistent, pixelated, not sharp, and when you upload your pictures to any social media or website platform the resolution will be off, so much to learn here, do it right get the right person.
Get good equipment, learn how to edit very very good, be passionate about your work, invest back in the business and make sure you invest in the right areas. Have a happy day and we will see you next time, oh and if you have questions on how I started and which route did I take feel free to contact me.
