My Very First Wedding...
Wow what an amazing journey has it been these last couple years in this business, COVID started to spread through North America, setting at a new city, giving birth to a new child just a bit before COVID, missing my friends in South Central Florida, my husband starting a new job all the good stuff of life. But in the midst of all of this I continued pursuing what I love to do which is snap pictures... Despite all of these speed bumps I have used these opportunities to learn and grow to the full extent. I have connected with some amazing photographers and small businesses here in Ocala Florida where I live.
Ok now lets get into how I was featured on the Ocala Magazine at the end of last year 2021. Business was booming, I was being requested by couples around town for their family portraits, Christmas cards, Senior photos and Corporate photoshoots but a business area that I was truly interested in was Wedding photography and I was committed and worked towards that goal full steam ahead. I came across an oportunity to shoot a wedding at the (WEC) World Equestrian Center in Ocala Florida and I worked as hard as I could to secure that wedding but unfortunately I did not have any relevant photo content and in this business content is very important but great content that must be. So of course I lost the opportunity the client picked an out of town photographer, but I did not give up I contacted the client and asked her if she was ok if of shot her wedding for free. And to my blessing the client said it was ok, so I packed my Canon EOS R5 Camera that I had recently purchased with my RF 70-200 Lens and off I went to this wedding. What an amazing experience and how awesome the venue was, pictures came out amazing, I learned so much that week and had so much fun editing the pictures afterward.
By the time I was done with this first wedding shoot I was hooked, I knew this was exactly was I wanted to do and I was convinced we were going to grow this business. And oh boy then comes the icing on the cake, I receive an email from Ocala Style with a request to use one of my pictures that I shot that day of the wedding at the WEC, so I jump up and down tell my husband and meditate on the blessings, and of course I told Ocala Style they can use my picture.
